Real was one of Germany's big supermarket chains, also present in Berlin. Metro sold the brand in 2020 and it has since disappeared from the cityscape. Like Kaiser's, a piece of Berlin's culture of remembrance.

Instead of a supermarket, Heiner's favourite place to shop and marvel: the Dong Xuan Center in Lichtenberg, Berlin's largest Asian market, with six halls full of Vietnamese shops and snack bars. Closed on Tuesdays.
