ROGER
Berlin artist — Heiner really likes his work
The story
Berlin artist — Heiner really likes his work
ROGER is a Berlin artist whose work Heiner really likes — though the two don't know each other personally. Immortalised in the artwork as a reference, a quiet greeting to someone who is part of the Berlin art scene.
★ Heiner's tip
Köpi 137
For graffiti fans: the Köpi 137 on Köpenicker Straße. The Tacheles is gone – the Köpi isn't. Squatted shortly after the fall of the Wall in 1990 and legalised in 1991, it is one of Berlin's last big squats. The façade is painted from top to bottom and can be seen from the street at any time. The neighbouring trailer site was cleared in 2021, but the building itself remains: at the end of 2024 the regional court dismissed the eviction suit. You can get in during concerts and events – otherwise please look from outside, people live here.
