The story in the picture
Not a studio piece. Every line was drawn live in Munich, with pen and ink on paper. No photos, no tracing, no redrawing later.
For weeks I explored the city with my mobile setup: a folded 80 × 80 cm sheet in a triangle-shaped table in my backpack, ready whenever the city called. I drew above ground — on squares, in parks, in front of landmarks — and for hours deep underground in the U-Bahn stations, where the rhythm of the trains became part of the picture.
It includes the Eisbach wave, the Bavaria statue and Marienplatz, but also personal discoveries: the shipwreck beer garden Alte Utting, a hidden witch house, quirky cafés and nameless passages.

— Lea K.How the motif is made
Drawing on the street is my favourite way to get to know a city. I sit on my little camping chair, people stop, share stories and give me tips on where to draw next.
Every motif starts as an original 80 × 80 cm ink drawing, made live on the street. Back in Germany I carefully scan and clean the drawing for printing.
On my travels I discover something new to love about the city every day – and draw it into the picture. Maybe one day you will stand right at one of these places.
Spotted something in the drawing and want to know what's behind it? Message me – I'm happy to tell you the story or share the location.

The artist
I set out from my hometown Berlin in 2014 – to London and Paris, to Southeast Asia with Vietnam and Laos, to Valencia, Brussels and Basel.
In every city I stay for weeks and draw live on the street. By now it's twelve cities – and a new one is added every year.
